Eric Björgensköld is a Swedish scientific scholar in the field of Astronomy.
History
He is the author of many papers on solar prominences. He was a member of Decimus Phostle's Arctic expedition team to recover samples from a fallen meteorite, the Aurora Expedition. He features only in The Shooting Star. Björgensköld bears physical resemblance to a real person: the Swiss Auguste Piccard, who was also Hergé's inspiration for Professor Calculus.1
