Mohammed Ben Kalish Ezab is the Emir of the fictional Arab state of Khemed. His only son and heir is Abdullah, the mischievous Crown Prince. He first appears in The Land of Black Gold, but he and his son re-appear in The Red Sea Sharks, when Mohammed Ben Kalish Ezab is temporarily overthrown by his rival Sheikh Bab El Ehr after a coup. He entrusts his son to Tintin's care where he stays at Marlinspike Hall despite Captain Haddock's objections. At the end of The Red Sea Sharks, father and son are presumably reunited.
