Patrash Pasha is a local Arabian Sheik and is a self confessed fan of Tintin's works in journalism. Tintin was captured by the Sheik's men, but was released on his orders and the two have a courteous conversation. After this Pasha gives Tintin a quality horse for him to continue his journey. Pasha also makes an appearance in The Red Sea Sharks.
Points of Interest
In the original version of Cigars of the Pharaoh, when Pasha tells Tintin that he is an admirer of his exploits, his servant held up a copy of Tintin in America. In the book’s second edition, a copy of Tintin in the Congo (colour version) is presented. In the most recent publication, a copy of Destination Moon is shown. This is despite Destination Moon being published 19 years after Cigars of the Pharaoh.
