Red Rackham (French: Rackham le Rouge) (BR-PT: Rackham o terrível) was an infamous pirate Captain who stole The Unicorn. Rackham was the leader of the pirates who attacked The Unicorn, the ship captained by Sir Francis Haddock, an ancestor of Captain Haddock's. Rackham had engaged Haddock in battle, resulting in almost total destruction of Rackham's ship. As his ship was sinking, Rackham and his men boarded The Unicorn and managed to gain control of the vessel. Haddock was captured and tied to the ship's mast and the crew were cast overboard.

Rackham intended to have Haddock tortured by his men the following day, but before he could, Sir Francis freed himself and plotted to sink the ship with the pirates still aboard. During this Rackham discovered he had escaped leading to the two engaging in single combat using cutlasses. Rackham was killed in the duel and Sir Francis managed to blow up the Unicorn and get away safely. His name is a reference to the real-life pirate Jack 'Calico' Rackham.

Red Rackham was portrayed by actor Daniel Craig in the motion-capture film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. The character of Rackham is relatively faithful to Hergé's creation with the only real difference being Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine becoming a distant descendant of his only in spielbergs film The Adventures of TinTin
