Sandys (French: Lord Carnawal) was an Egyptologist from the The Adventures of Tintin series who appeared briefly in Cigars of the Pharaoh. He was the 19th scholar to discover the tomb of Pharaoh Kih-Oskh which was a secret base for drug cartel Kih-Oskh Brotherhood.
History[]
He was one of the many Egyptologists that were imprisoned in the lost tomb of the Pharaoh Kih-Oskh by the Kih-Oskh Brotherhood. When Tintin himself traveled through the tomb in search of Sophocles Sarcophagus, he passed by Sandys wrapped up in a coffin along with many other Egyptologists like P. Schwarz, E.P. Jacobini, M. Trentin, M. Dupont and Sauerkraut.
Origin[]
His original French name "Lord Carnawal (Carnaval in older version)" is modelled after British nobleman Lord Carnavon who financially backed several archaeological projects like excavation of Tutankhamun's tomb in the Valley of the Kings.[1]
