In one year of her service, Tanganyika was caught in a storm gale, and was wrecked and sank near the Spanish coastal city of Vigo, although all her crew safely made it off. The Tanganyika and her fate were only mentioned in a radio broadcast in the book The Crab with the Golden Claws. Other than that, she made no other known appearance.
