Biography[]
While walking through the countryside, Tintin and his dog Snowy see a plane make an emergency landing in a field. They go and take a closer look and notice that it has not got a registration code. Seeing them approach, Tyler told Mick who told him to follow the guidelines in such a case: when Tintin came to help, the pilot shot Tintin in the ribs, though he survived as the bullet only grazed them.
He and Mick later crashed their plane near Eastdown, in Sussex, England. Tintin went there to investigate and found the pilot's jacket in a nearby woods. There was also some pieces of paper nearby which has been torn up. Tintin put the pieces together and this led him to J. W. Müller.

- In the Belvision adaptation, the pilot tried to fire a warning shot at Tintin but accidentally hit him.
