Yat Upan-seh as seen in black and white
Yat Upan-seh was a Chinese criminal worker who appeared in the original work of Tintin in America in The Adventures of Tintin series. He was seen who with his unnamed boss tried to throw Tintin in Lake Michigan as revenge for him getting most of the criminals sent to prison. He is replaced by Sam in a redrawn version due to stereotypical allegations.

- The name "Yat Upan-seh" sounds Chinese, but it has actually no meaning in Chinese. It is pun from French "Y as-tu pensé", which means "Have you thought about it?".
